A gypsy came upon a town deserted, save for a solitary peasant from whom the gypsy learnt what had happened. The town had been cursed with a dragon which came very day to eat someone, Since, the peasant said, there was now nobody else left, the dragon would come next day to eat him, and the day after, the gypsy.
The gypsy was not frightened and remained. The next morning, he heard a great rumble of thunder and the earth began to shake: the dragon was arriving. Despite the difference in size, the gypsy marched out to meet the dragon and challenged him. 'Eat me if you want but you won't be able to chew me. You will have to swallow me whole, and when I'm down in your stomach, I will tear you apart and you will die.'
The dragon began to laugh. 'You really think you are that tough? Let's see how strong you are. The dragon picked up a rock and squeezed it so hard that it crumbled to dust.
'Oh, that's nothing!' the gypsy shrugged. 'I'm so strong that I can squeeze water out of stones!' And the clever gypsy, instead of picking up a rock, lifted up a cheese he had hidden on the ground, and he squeezed out all of the whey. The dragon was so dismayed by the gypsy's strength that he ran off and never returned.
Moral : It is due to wisdom that, man is stronger than any other creature in this world.
